Author and artist Tia Richardson will offer healing watercolor readings, art prints and copies of her book 'Caring All Around Me' and its accompanying Workbook.
 

A little background: When I first started doing portraits one of the things I used to do was what I called 'Soul Portraits'. That was where I intuitively connected to a persons soul and create an abstract representation of what it looked like in my vision, with a mini-reading to help them connect. This time I'll be trying something new, using a technique I've done before with groups for self-discovery. In that exercise, people are doing their own watercolor painting, without judgement as to a right or wrong way to do it, its just about noticing what you feel in the moment and then reflecting on that.

I have found watercolors to be incredibly therapeutic because of their fluid nature. In many cultural and philosophical traditions, including dream interpretation, water represents emotions because of its fluidic nature. They way the colors 'flow' and interact, or don't interact can tell us a lot about our own emotional nature. The goal is not to control (although if you're a perfectionist like me that's hard at times!) but to see what they can tell us about where we are. This time, I'll be doing the painting for another person who wants to gain greater emotional clarity into an experience or situation and then offering them a reading based on what I intuit.

My booth will feature the storybook 'Caring All Around Me', about a young girl whose world is opened up through a magical journey into a garden full of possibilities. Paired with an engaging workbook that helps young people (and adults) learn about healthy relating.

In the healing session you will be seated comfortably on a chair and be invited to tell me something you would like emotional clarity on. Then I will do a watercolor painting while we both listen to calming music. Afterwards, I'll offer the insight that comes to me from painting. You have the option of taking the painting home. 30min/$35. Also, art prints will be available for sale.
