Tia Richardson

An artist since 4 years old, Tia has always loved making things. As a child she made things like little house shoes and toy houses. She also has written and illustrated her own children's books for fun in grade school, dreaming of one day becoming an author. In high school she started focusing more on illustration than writing. After graduating with a degree in Graphic Design in 2003 she  started Cosmic Butterfly Art &Design to build a structure around her dream of painting the world with color and love.

Today she focuses on inspirational messages that bring warmth and joy. She is currently doing art shows in the Midwest where she can bring people from all backgrounds together for an experiential participation of art, one that combines music and poetry that merge themes from her paintings into multi-sensory experiences. Recently fashion and textile elments have inspired her into producing a line of handpainted denim apparel and textile jewelry. Her long and short-term goals include marketing a clothing line of her original handpainted or art-inspired themes; illustrating a series of inspirational cards, and becoming a published author of whimsical inspirational books for adults and children imparting spiritual themes such as joy, creativity, balance, and harmony.

When she's not painting she enjoys natural peanut butter with Matt's brand Chocolate Chip cookies, dancing, percussion, playing piano, composing music and community-building.
