Murals for commercial businesses typically tell a story about the business, or depict a theme through which the company wants to meaningfully convey its culture, expertise and mission.

Murals can also be purely decorative, inspirational, or designed to inspire creativity or relaxation depending on where the mural will be placed and what purpose it is intended to serve.

Sometimes when a particular area of the building will be decorated a mural can creatively tell a story about what that room or area is used for, such as boardrooms, meeting rooms, and "think tank" rooms.
